The Toronto Debating Society is coming to Phoenix-Toronto Toastmasters for one night only!

The Toronto Debating Society (TDS) will bring its panache for debating to the Phoenix-Toronto Toastmaster club on February 3rd, 2009. Presentation by Michelle Warren.

What is a Debate…?

…a formal discussion. A debate is a method of presenting and arguing differing points of view on a particular topic. An effective debate requires each speaker to balance logic and reasoning, while appealing emotionally to the audience.. The balance results in a challenging, interesting, fun and definitely thought-provoking discussion.

On February 3rd, the TDS will present an interactive workshop, led by experienced debaters highlighting the parliamentary style of debating to Phoenix.

About the TDS:

The TDS was founded in 1995 on the belief that there are people looking for a good debate on a thought provoking topic. However, it's not always easy to find this outlet - especially when juggling a busy lifestyle. To scratch this itch – the 2008/2009 “Get your Fix” campaign was launched.
